The Public Prosecution Reviews Its Jurisdictions and Experience in Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence

The State Public Prosecution hosted at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi today an official meeting bringing together a number of officials from the General Secretariat of the Cabinet and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in the presence of His Excellency Counsellor Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Attorney-General of the Federation; Her Excellency Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Cabinet; His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat; His Excellency Counsellor Sultan Ibrahim Abdullah Al Juwaied, Assistant Attorney-General at the State Public Prosecution; and His Excellency Mohammed bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange, alongside a number of members of the judicial authority and leaders of the State Public Prosecution.

During the meeting, the State Public Prosecution reviewed its role and its constitutionally and legally established competences within the criminal justice system, together with the responsibilities it undertakes in entrenching the rule of law and in initiating criminal proceedings.

The attendees were briefed on the experience of the State Public Prosecution in digital transformation and in employing artificial intelligence technologies to develop judicial work, raise the efficiency of procedures and enhance the quality of decisions and services, within an institutional framework that preserves legal safeguards and upholds human responsibility in the exercise of judicial competence.

The meeting addressed the prospects of strengthening institutional cooperation and coordination and the exchange of expertise among the participating entities, in a manner that supports the integration of governmental roles, raises the efficiency of institutional work and contributes to entrenching a more integrated and effective governmental system.
