The Federal Public Prosecution and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation Hold the Third Meeting of the Joint Task Force in Moscow

The joint working team between the Federal Public Prosecution of the State and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation held its third meeting in Moscow, under the title "Reviewing the Mechanisms of Investigation and Asset Recovery in Cross-Border Cyber Fraud Crimes", in activation of the protocol signed in Abu Dhabi on 15 April 2025, which followed the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two sides.

The two sides exchanged expertise in the recovery of cross-border assets in cyber fraud crimes, and the mechanisms of investigating virtual assets, tracing, seizing and freezing them and their legislative regulation in the State, in addition to following up on mutual legal assistance requests and extradition requests relevant to both sides.

The meeting embodies the directions of the Federal Public Prosecution in combating financial crimes and money laundering crimes, and is also consistent with the targets of the National Strategy for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism and the Financing of Proliferation of Weapons 2024–2027 in enhancing international cooperation and tracing, freezing, confiscating and recovering assets.

The State's delegation was headed by Advocate General Ahmed Abdullah Al Hammadi, Head of the Federal Public Funds Prosecution and Head of the working team, with the membership of Advocate General Khalid Al Madhani, Head of the Rumours and Electronic Crimes Prosecution; Chief Prosecutor Dr. Marwan Jasim Mohammed, Director of the Federal Prosecution for Economic Crimes and Money Laundering in the Emirate of Ajman; and Prosecutor Mohammed Yousef Al Hammadi, while the Russian side was headed by the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Pyotr Petrovich Gorodov.

The two sides concluded the meeting by affirming the continuation of enhancing cooperation in asset recovery and following up on mutual legal assistance requests, and the continued holding of the team's meetings between the two countries.
