Hamdan bin Zayed Receives Cybersecurity Delegation and Praises National Cloud Centers in Al Dhafra

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, received a delegation from the UAE Cyber Security Council, headed by His Excellency Dr Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of the Council, at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Sheikh Yas bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the sites of the National Cloud's backup data centres extending into Al Dhafra Region, and commended this step, which strengthens the readiness of the country's digital infrastructure.

His Highness was also briefed on the Cyber Security Council's efforts to develop digital infrastructure and national capabilities in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, supporting the building of an advanced digital ecosystem that keeps pace with global technological developments and contributes to providing a secure digital environment for businesses and institutions across various vital sectors.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, may God protect him, continues to consolidate its position as a global hub for artificial intelligence technologies and large-scale data centres, guided by a national vision founded on investment in advanced technologies and the development of national talent, thereby strengthening the country's cyber defence capabilities, providing a secure digital environment for various institutions and companies, enhancing the UAE's global competitiveness and accelerating digital transformation towards a national economy based on knowledge and innovation.

His Highness pointed to the importance of entrenching a cyber culture among individuals and institutions, enhancing the ability to counter digital and electronic threats, protecting national gains and supporting the country's future directions in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, thereby contributing to achieving sustainable and comprehensive development across various sectors.

His Highness was briefed on the latest developments of the National Cybersecurity Strategy, in addition to the Council's plans to expand the scope of the business growth and innovation programme within the cybersecurity ecosystem, CyberE71, to include sponsoring innovative ideas of school and university students and entrepreneurs in Al Dhafra Region, through capacity building, fostering innovation and providing an incubating environment for developing pioneering solutions that contribute to protecting the digital space and supporting the digital economy.

His Excellency Dr Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, affirming that His Highness's interest in following the latest developments of priority vital sectors embodies his keenness to support national initiatives that enhance digital readiness and consolidate an integrated cybersecurity ecosystem, supporting the development march in Al Dhafra Region and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
