Dubai Police Continue Efforts to Combat Fraud Crimes

Dubai Police, represented by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, organised the "Fraud Lab" with the aim of unifying efforts and enhancing integration to confront fraud crimes and develop a more efficient system for prevention and response in support of community security, with the participation of security and regulatory bodies, financial institutions, technology companies and digital platforms.

The Lab's sessions focused on building an integrated system based on the rapid exchange of information and clarity of roles and responsibilities among the various entities, contributing to reducing fraud crimes and strengthening response capabilities.

Participants discussed three main themes, including enhancing the responsibility of digital platforms in curbing fraudulent accounts and advertisements and speeding up the response to reports, developing the role of banks and financial institutions, alongside expanding the partnership between the public and private sectors and leveraging modern technologies to develop innovative solutions.

Participants affirmed that successfully combating fraud begins with preventing the crime from occurring and limiting its effects, alongside the swift handling of reports, which strengthens community trust in digital and financial services.

The Lab issued a set of practical recommendations to develop cooperation and coordination among the concerned entities and build a sustainable and more effective system to protect the community from fraud crimes.
