Dubai Police Achieves 99.8% Response Rate to Emergency Calls in Under 10 Seconds
Dubai Police's Command and Control Center handled more than 1.3 million calls during the second quarter of 2026, achieving a 99.8% rate in answering emergency calls within less than 10 seconds — surpassing the 97% target — an achievement reflecting the efficiency of the emergency response system, the speed of response, and the readiness of security personnel to handle all types of reports.
This came during a second-quarter performance assessment meeting of the General Department of Operations, chaired by His Excellency Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, and attended by His Excellency Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, Brigadier Turki bin Fares, Director of the General Department of Operations, and a number of senior officers.
Major General Al Shamsi affirmed that Dubai Police attaches great importance to customers' feedback and complaints, considering them partners in developing security and administrative services, noting the adoption of the "Mystery Shopper" mechanism to communicate with customers after receiving a service, measure their satisfaction levels, and analyse their feedback, turning it into development opportunities that contribute to enhancing service quality and instilling a culture of continuous improvement in line with international best practices.
The meeting reviewed the operational performance indicators of the General Department of Operations, alongside future projects aimed at developing the operational system and strengthening its readiness to keep pace with security developments. It also discussed a specialised study on human resources in the Command and Control Center, addressing future needs and mechanisms to raise operational efficiency in support of round-the-clock rapid response to reports.
Indicators showed that police stations achieved a coverage rate of 98.8% of their areas of jurisdiction during the second quarter, surpassing the set target of 97%, reflecting the efficiency of security patrol deployment and the effectiveness of field plans in enhancing security and response speed.
Major General Al Shamsi affirmed that the results achieved reflect the continuous development of the operational system through the integration of work between the General Department of Operations and police stations, noting that the Command and Control Center demonstrated high efficiency during recent exceptional circumstances through the speed of managing reports and directing patrols and relevant authorities in line with the highest standards of readiness.
He stressed the importance of accelerating the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies within the operational system, in line with the Dubai Government's direction towards expanding reliance on these technologies, given their role in enhancing decision-making efficiency, accelerating response, and leveraging big data to support security work and strengthen Dubai Police's readiness for future requirements.
