Abu Dhabi Judiciary and Community Development Discuss Cooperation to Enhance Family Quality of Life

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi discussed ways to strengthen their strategic partnership and to develop mechanisms of cooperation and coordination in areas of common interest, in a manner that supports the quality of initiatives and services directed at the family and contributes to entrenching stability and social cohesion.

This came during the reception by His Excellency Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Judicial Department, of His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development, and his accompanying delegation, where they discussed a number of priority areas of cooperation, foremost among them the development of the family guidance and counselling project through the adoption of an integrated mechanism that ensures the smooth and efficient referral of beneficiary cases in order to preserve the family entity, in addition to developing the visitation service for children under custody by simplifying procedures and raising the efficiency of data exchange, so as to accelerate the delivery of services and elevate their quality, contributing to enhancing family stability.

The two sides also discussed mechanisms for strengthening cooperation in the field of the care and rehabilitation of inmates, through developing the psychological, social and health care support programmes provided, and completing rehabilitative and correctional programmes, in a manner that contributes to preparing inmates to reintegrate into society after the end of their sentences, and enhances their opportunities to build a stable life and contribute positively to society.

The meeting also addressed avenues of cooperation in the field of protecting children from crimes and forms of abuse, through the exchange of expertise in preparing psychological and social reports, in keeping with best international practices, and enhancing the efficiency of the child protection system.

The two sides affirmed the necessity of continuing to develop the frameworks of joint cooperation and coordination, and of launching qualitative initiatives and projects that contribute to strengthening institutional integration, entrenching family stability and elevating quality of life, thereby achieving the targets of sustainable social development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency Counsellor Yousef Al Abri affirmed the importance of this visit in strengthening the aspects of cooperation with the Department of Community Development and exploring the potential to support and consolidate it in various fields, in harmony with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, aimed at entrenching strategic partnerships with government entities and unifying efforts, so as to contribute to developing an integrated system that supports the stability of the family as the fundamental pillar for building a cohesive and sustainable society.

His Excellency indicated that the Judicial Department is keen to broaden the horizons of cooperation and the exchange of expertise with strategic partners, and to benefit from best practices, in order to enhance the efficiency of services and elevate their quality, and to keep pace with the targets of the Abu Dhabi Government in developing a more integrated and proactive government work system, which is positively reflected on society and enhances the sustainability of development.

For his part, His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri praised the level of existing cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, affirming that the partnership between the two sides represents a leading model of institutional integration in developing initiatives and services directed at the family, and in strengthening efforts aimed at entrenching family stability and supporting social cohesion, in keeping with the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in building a more prosperous, higher-quality and sustainable society.
